An outgrowth of Jo Shane’s, The Future Is Now (2017), The Microgreens Project is a grass roots initiative, which aims to disseminate the micronutrient-rich superfood to low income or working poor individuals and families whose nutritional needs typically aren’t being met.

Just a handful of these potent greens has the potential provide up to 70 times the vitamins and minerals of a bowlful of traditional greens; supporting a stronger immune system to fight off disease and stimulate physical and mental development.

Initially established as a partnership with Sylvia Rivera Food Pantry - a Midtown Manhattan charity that provides food to many sectors including their LGBT shelter and the undocumented, the goal is to donate and educate about this sustainable superfood.
